The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
