Hizb 46

And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
