Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and the smooth runners 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
