Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and so am I: 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
