Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Nay! you shall soon know, 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You will surely end up seeing Hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
