The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If We please, We should send down upon them a sign from the heaven so that their necks should stoop to it. 4 Whenever a new message comes to them from the Beneficent God, they turn away from it. 5 thus, indeed, have they given the lie (to this message as well). But [in time] they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride! 6 Do they not see the earth, how many of every noble kind We have caused to grow in it? 7 In this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 8 And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 9
