The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous. 1 As guidance and good tidings for the believers 2 Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. 5 As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. 6 (Remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his household: "Verily! I have seen a fire, I will bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand, that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 And cast thou down thy staff. Then when he saw it wriggling as though it were a serpent, he turned in flight and looked not back. O Musa! fear thou not; verily in My presence the sent ones fear not. 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people. 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! 14
