The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 Protecting them against every wayward devil, 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 (Muhammad), ask them, "Have they (people) been created stronger than what We have created?" We have created them from moist clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
