And he who believed said: O my people! follow me, I will guide you to the right course; 38 O people, the life of this world is ephemeral; but enduring is the abode of the Hereafter. 39 Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account. 40 ۞ And, O my people! what aileth me that I call you unto deliverance, while ye call me unto the Fire! 41 You invite me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver. 42 What you are calling me to is surely not worth the calling in this world or in the next, because our returning is to God; and because the transgressors will be inmates of Hell. 43 You will remember what I say in time to come; I submit my case to the judgement of God. Surely God keeps an eye on His creatures." 44 So God guarded him against the evil things of their devising, and there encompassed the folk of Pharaoh the evil chastisement, 45 The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement. 46 And when they wrangle in the Fire, the weak say unto those who were proud: Lo! we were a following unto you; will ye therefor rid us of a portion of the Fire? 47 The ones who had dominated them will say, "All of us are now in hell. God has already issued His Judgment of His servants (and no one can change this)." 48 And those who are in the fire shall say to the keepers of hell: Call upon your Lord that He may lighten to us one day of the punishment. 49 They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error." 50
