Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sun and its midmorning, 1 and by the moon as it follows it; 2 By the day when it glorifieth it. 3 And the night when it enshroudeth him, 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 By the earth and Him Who spread it forth, 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 Truly he succeeds that purifies it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, 11 When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel). 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 He does not fear the consequence. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
