He it is Who sendeth down water from the sky, whence ye have drink, and whence are trees on which ye send your beasts to pasture. 10 And thereby He brings forth crops and olives, palms and vines, and all the fruits. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who think. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 And other things of different shades has He produced on the earth for you. In this are signs for those who reflect. 13 It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful. 14 And He hath cast into the earth firm hills that it quake not with you, and streams and roads that ye may find a way. 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, not living. And they know not when they will be raised. 21
