۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities, 53 saying: "These (Israelites) are only a small band of people 54 They are always harassing us. 55 we are a large and watchful force." 56 So We made them leave the gardens and springs of water, 57 And treasures and a fair estate. 58 Thus it was: but [in the course of time] We were to bestow all these [things] as a heritage on the children of Israel. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 Moses said: "Certainly not. My Lord is with me; He will direct me." 62 Then We revealed to Musa: Strike the sea with your staff. So it had cloven asunder, and each part was like a huge mound. 63 And We made the other party approach thither. 64 and We saved Moses and all who were with him, 65 then We drowned the others. 66 In this [story] behold, there is a message [unto all men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 67 truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 68
