The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
