The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
