Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7
As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 Devils divert men from the [right] way, while they think that they are rightly guided. 37 At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 Whether We take thee away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or show you what We have promised them – We therefore have complete control over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 And verily, this (the Quran) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad SAW) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
