NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who will be in Paradise 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
