Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
