The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
