The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
