The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The piercing star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 That this is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
