Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
