And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)! 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 They will be comfortably seated; reclining, they will call for abundant fruit and drink; 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
