The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
