The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
