Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
