The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He who has revealed the criteria (for discerning truth from falsehood) to His servant so that He could warn mankind. 1 He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure. 2 Yet have they taken, besides him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created; that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control death nor life nor resurrection. 3 But the misbelievers say: "Naught is this but a lie which he has forged, and others have helped him at it." In truth it is they who have put forward an iniquity and a falsehood. 4 And they said, “These are stories of the former people, which he has written down, so they are read to him morning and evening.” 5 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): He who knoweth the secret of the heavens and the earth hath revealed it. Lo! He ever is Forgiving, Merciful. 6 But they say: "What sort of prophet is this who eats food and walks the market places? Why was no angel sent to him to act as admonisher with him? 7 “Or that he should have obtained a hidden treasure, or should have had a garden from which to eat”; and the unjust said, “You do not follow but a man under a magic spell.” 8 Just see what strange arguments they bring forward with regard to you! They have gone so far astray that they cannot charge any thing against you. 9
