Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 And We have made the heavens as a canopy well guarded: yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things (point to)! 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul is going to taste of death, and We shall prove you with evil and good as a temptation; and unto Us ye shall be returned. 35 When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious! 36 The human being is created hasty. Tell them, "Do not be hasty, for God will soon show you the evidence of His existence". 37 And they say: "When will this promise (come to pass), if you are truthful." 38 If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped. 39 Nay, but [the Last Hour] will come upon them of a sudden, and will stupefy them: and they will be unable to avert it, and neither wilt they be allowed any respite. 40 Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them. 41
