And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
