In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
