The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 unto a mighty day 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
