Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
