Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
