In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
KaafHaYa'aeenSaad. 1 A mention of the Mercy of your Lord to his worshiper Zachariah, 2 When he called to his Lord inwardly, 3 and said, "My Lord, my bones have become feeble and my hair has turned white with age. Yet I have never been deprived in receiving from You the answer to my prayers. 4 And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from Thyself an heir, 5 Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." 6 (Allah said) "O Zakariya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, His name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)." 7 He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?" 8 He said, "It will be so! Your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me for I created you when you were nothing before.'" 9 He said: My Lord! Appoint for me some token. He said: Thy token is that thou, with no bodily defect, shalt not speak unto mankind three nights. 10 Zachariah came out to his people from place of worship and inspired them to glorify the Lord both in the morning and evening. 11 (We said): 'O John, hold fast to the Book', and We bestowed on him judgment while yet a child 12 And compassion from Us, and goodness. So he was devout, 13 and full of piety towards his parents; and never was he haughty or rebellious. 14 He was born and died in peace and will be brought back to life again in peace. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
