But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far, far is that which you are threatened with. 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him. 38 He said, 'O my Lord, help me, for that they cry me lies.' 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
