The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the people of the right hand 38
