The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
