He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
