Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(As for) those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah's way, He shall render their works ineffective. 1 But those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what is sent down to Muhammad -- and it is the truth from their Lord -- He will acquit them of their evil deeds, and dispose their minds aright. 2 This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. As such Allah sets forth for people their examples. 3 So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost, 4 He will guide them, and dispose their minds aright, 5 And bring them in unto the Garden which He hath made known to them. 6 O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. 7 As to those who disbelieve, perdition lies in store for them and Allah has reduced their works to nought. 8 This is because they disliked what Allah has sent down – He has therefore squandered all their deeds. 9 ۞ Have they not journeyed in the land and seen the fate of those before them? Destroyed they were utterly by God; and a similar (fate) awaits the unbelievers. 10 That is because Allah is the patron of those who believe, and because the infidels! no patron is theirs. 11
