He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 You pay full attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
