The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
