Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 1 He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, 2 Along with others of them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise. 3 That is the bounty of God; He gives it to whom He will, and God is of bounty abounding. 4 The likeness of those who were laden with the Taurat and then they bare it not, is as the likeness of the ass bearing tomes. Hapless is the likeness of the people who belie the signs of Allah. And Allah guideth not a wrong doing people. 5 Say: 'O you who are Jews, if you claim that of all people, you alone are the guided by Allah, then long for death if you are truthful' 6 They will never wish for it, because of what their hands have sent forward. God has full knowledge of evil-doers. 7 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! the death from which ye shrink will surely meet you, and afterward ye will be returned unto the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, and He will tell you what ye used to do. 8
