The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
