Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
