Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
