The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful One 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
