Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And no trifle. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
