The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance. 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore, the orphan shalt thou never wrong, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
