Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a high garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
