The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And pollution shun. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
