Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
